If you’ve spent any time looking through our portfolio, you may have noticed something. Some of our weddings don’t exactly look like South Carolina.
You might see vineyards stretching across rolling hills, elegant wine country estates, dramatic coastal views, historic San Francisco architecture, or mountain landscapes that feel very different from the scenery around Columbia, Lake Murray, Charleston, or Greenville.
And there’s a reason for that.
Our story began long before we ever called South Carolina home.
I was born and raised in California, while my husband Jay was born and raised in England. We met in San Francisco, fell in love, and built both our family and our photography business there.

What started as a passion quickly became a thriving wedding photography business. Over the years, we photographed weddings of every size—from intimate celebrations to large luxury events—and were honored to receive multiple awards for our work.
As our family grew, so did our business.
After the birth of our third child, we moved to Northern California’s wine country. Suddenly, our calendar filled with beautiful vineyard weddings, elegant winery celebrations, and couples looking for timeless photography in some of the most stunning locations on the West Coast.
Then came another adventure.
Shortly before the birth of our fourth child, we purchased a farmhouse on five acres in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. We poured our hearts into renovating it and creating the home we had always dreamed about.

It became much more than a house.
Couples began traveling from San Francisco, Napa Valley, Sonoma, Sacramento, and beyond to have their engagement sessions and portraits photographed at our property. We’d wander through fields and country roads, photograph golden sunsets, and then sit together sharing homemade bread, local cheese, and wine from nearby wineries.
Those years were special.
What we loved most wasn’t just the scenery—it was the relationships. Photography was never simply about taking beautiful images. It was about creating an experience and genuinely getting to know the people we served.
Our children spent their days running across five acres of open land. We watched God faithfully guide our family through every season, including the uncertainty of the COVID years. While much of the world felt confined, we found ourselves perched on a hill with room to breathe, room to grow, and countless reminders of God’s provision.

But eventually life began to feel more complicated.
Every year seemed to bring another fire season. Evacuations became part of life. Our daughter was taking ballet classes over Zoom. We started wondering if God might have something different for our family.
One day, Jay and I spread out a map and began coloring the states we were considering.
I’ve always been drawn to the South.
Something about wraparound porches, sweet tea, slower evenings, and genuine Southern hospitality felt like home long before I had ever lived here.
So we packed our bags and took a scouting trip through North Carolina and South Carolina.

South Carolina won our hearts.
We loved the beauty, the people, and the pace of life. We loved the idea of being close to the capital city while still enjoying space and community. We found a home on a half-acre near Lake Murray and knew we’d found the place where we wanted to plant roots.
That was five years ago.

Since moving to South Carolina, we’ve had the privilege of photographing families, graduating seniors, business owners, corporate events, and weddings throughout the state. We’ve fallen in love with photographing celebrations at beautiful South Carolina wedding venues, lakeside weddings, historic estates, gardens, churches, and private properties.
Yet our California years continue to influence the work we create today.
When couples hire us, they aren’t simply hiring photographers who have worked in South Carolina for the last five years.
They’re benefiting from nearly fifteen years of experience photographing weddings across multiple regions, venues, lighting conditions, weather situations, and event styles.
They’re benefiting from the experience we gained photographing luxury weddings, high-budget celebrations, destination events, vineyard weddings, and fast-paced wedding days where every moment mattered.
They’re benefiting from photographers who know how to work discreetly, adapt quickly, anticipate moments before they happen, and create images that feel timeless years later.
Because beautiful photography isn’t really about the location.
It’s about the people.
One of the greatest compliments we’ve ever received comes from clients who return to their photographs years later and tell us something we never forget:
“You captured who they really were.”
Sometimes those words come after a loved one has passed away.
And while posed portraits will always have their place, the images families treasure most are often the unplanned moments—the laughter, the tears, the embraces, the proud looks, the quiet exchanges no one else noticed.
Those are the moments we’re constantly watching for.
The squeeze of a hand.
The tear a father tries to hide.
The way a grandmother looks at her grandchildren.
The expression on a groom’s face when he sees his bride.
The joyful chaos that makes every family unique.
Our goal has never been simply to document what happened.
Our goal is to preserve how it felt.
Because decades from now, we want our clients to be transported back to those moments and experience the emotions all over again.
So if you’ve ever wondered why parts of our portfolio look a little different from the typical South Carolina landscape, now you know.

Our roots began on the West Coast.
Our hearts are firmly planted in South Carolina.

And we’re incredibly grateful that the experiences, lessons, and opportunities from both places allow us to serve our clients in a way that’s uniquely our own.
Whether you’re planning a luxury wedding in Charleston, a lakeside celebration at Lake Murray, a historic venue wedding in Columbia, or a destination wedding anywhere beyond, we’d be honored to tell your story.
Because at the end of the day, the most important part of any photograph isn’t where it was taken.
It’s who is in it.
